The intercultural educator: the what, how, and why of teaching intercultural communicative competence in Latin America

A reflective assessment of teaching praxis’ notions and beliefs becomes essential in instructing learners to effectively interact intercultural encounters. Arguments favor the component have been promoted for years but not fully reached systematic incorporation foreign language education Latin American countries. This paper examines concept mediator, approaching key questions (why, what, how) that emerge when integrating objectives classroom supported on theoretical frameworks insights from authors’ experience. The methodology used was an exploratory qualitative document review. Scientific articles published reliable databases were consulted answer targeting communicative competence teaching. main objective is invigorate discussion regarding while exploring practical ideas teach it. Findings suggest there a growing body literature interest standpoints toward ICC guiding teachers become educators willing integrate enable with crucial competence.
